A PEE paragraph is one with the following format:

Point - state your point (your main idea or topic) plainly and simply.

Evidence - state the evidence which supports that point. Use facts and details that you have looked up.

Explanation - explain each of your facts in more detail. Give examples, personal stories, or just write the information in other words.

To write PEE Paragraphs it is very simple. PEE means:

  • P=Point
  • E=Evidence
  • E=Explanation

to get a higher grade/level/score you can add an L into it.

  • L=Language

If you have to write a PEE Paragraph on a piece of text then:

  • Firstly you have to have a point
  • Second you have to pick out a quote to give evidence from your point.
  • Lastly give an explanation on your quote or point
  • Comment on the use of language from your explanation. eg- why the author/director/ect has used this/effect

Also to write a PEE paragraph you need to use good vocabulary, so that you can get extra marks and also describe everything really well so that you get even more marks.

this shows that pee paragraphs are not that hard c u later

POINT: What is the point you are making?

EVIDENCE LINK: Link the evidence (who, what, when, where)

EVIDENCE w/DOCUMENTATION: Choose the evidence from text to support the Point.

COMMENTARY: Analyze the evidence and relate it to your overall theme. Apply it to "real life."

You need to make your point expand on it and draw it to a conclusion :)

PEE Stands for:

Point

Explanation

Evidence

'PEE/PEER could also stand for:

Why use PEE?

• Reading is assessed by looking at 5 aspects

of a piece of writing. These are:

• Understand and select information and use of

evidence

• Interpret evidence

• Text structure and organisation

• Writer's use of language

• Writer's purpose and effect

• Point - What does the quote show in

very simple terms?

• Evidence - This is a 'quote' taken from

the text to prove or support what it is

that you are saying.

• Explanation - This is where you give a

more detailed explanation of the point.

It is good to include your own personal

opinion here.

Point its basically introducing the question,

Evidence is using a quote or supporting the question

Explanation is explaining those two points together in a detailed paragraph

Point - find a quote

Evidence - explain your point

Explain - explain your evidence

Example: Why did the league of nation fail?

Point - The first reason the league failed was that its organisation was chaotic

Evidence - The leagues secretariat was tiny, yet it had to co-ordinate the work off the assembly, the council of the committees and commission's

Explanation - This was very important because it harmed the league in a number of ways. Decisions sometimes took months. Important minutes and notes were lost

Most importantly the conference of ambassadors(a small group of powerful countries) found it easier to meet together and make a quick decisions the league had made

I hope that gives you a ruff idea, of a pee paragraph :)
