Action scenes have to be exciting. Here are some tips:

  • Have the scene crystal clear in your mind before you start writing - it should be as clear as in a movie. If you need to, act out the scene or get some friends to act it out for you.
  • Keep the sentences short and choppy to make things seem to move more quickly
  • Start in the right spot - you should start right when the action starts and not "lead up" with description
  • Save the flashbacks and descriptions for later - just write down the action part
