A 1099 form is for people that pay their own income tax, usually people with their own businesses or freelancers. The 1099 is a form that is filled out, not a letter. You can get a copy of it at any post office or library, or even more easily you can download and print one from the computer at IRS .gov.

What happens if you do not file a 1090 form?

IRS 1090 form or a 1040 Federal income tax return, or a 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, 1099-B, and they have more 1099-A, 1099-C and the have more 1099 available that you could have in your hand. The forms are used to show you and the IRS that you have some taxable income that is supposed to reported on your 1040 federal income tax return. What tax rate for 1099 MISC?

Tax rate is a function of personal situation, not a function of whether or not the income is reported on 1099 MISC. Of course, on 1099 income, you also may need to pay self-employment tax, but you should consult a tax adviser on that. And, also, since most 1099 income is not withheld income, there is the risk of an underpayment penalty.
