Here's how to write an informational story:

  1. Do your research and find out all about the subject so you have information to write about!
  2. List everything you know and have learned about the subject - don't bother to use correct grammar at this point
  3. Arrange the items in some kind of logical order - pretend you want to explain this subject to a friend, and put the information into an order that would help that friend understand it
  4. Make each line on your list into a complete sentence with proper grammar and spelling
  5. Write your report by putting these lines into a story and adding any extra lines to make it flow better -- again, pretend you're telling your friend all about it so he or she can understand

To write an informational story, choose a topic that you are knowledgeable about or have researched extensively. Start with a clear introduction that sets the context for the story. Use a logical structure with a beginning, middle, and end to present the information in a clear and engaging manner, and make sure to include relevant facts, examples, and details to support your topic. Conclude with a summary that reinforces the key points of the story.
