Texting can help you to just write something instead of saying it to someone and help you write to multiple people at once. However, it can cause you to forget how to spell.
In texting or IM, you may write *yawns* or use a "sleepy face" if at hand.
You just ask him out...but you know what? Texting is just pretty darn impersonal. Go talk to him. As for the texting I wouldn't write anything or send any picture that I wouldn't be willing to show anyone. Sometimes we say or do things in a text that can really be embarrassing later on.
