The best options are by train or car. Sometimes during the summer there is a boat but it's not as frequent. The train is direct and takes just under 2 hours costing less than 10 euro. Trains usually run every hour or so.

Transport from the UK to Venice?

You can fly from the UK to Trieste's Ronchi airport, to Treviso airport or to Marco Polo airport (nearest to Venice). From Ronchi, you can take a bus (or taxi) to Trieste and then a train to Venice, Santa Lucia. The Trieste bus and train stations are next door to one another. From Treviso, you can take a direct bus, which leaves quite frequently, to Venice From Marco Polo, you would take a bus (or taxi) to the Mestre train station. Board there to go to the Santa Lucia stop, which is at the foot of the Grand Canal in Venice.

A city of extreme northeast Italy on the Gulf of Trieste, an inlet of the Gulf of Venice at the head of the Adriatic Sea. In 1954 the territory was divided; the city and northern zone were given to Italy and the remainder of the area became part of Yugoslavia.

How to travel to Venice from izola or istria in October?

Izola is a town on the Slovenian coast which is part of Istria. There are many buses each day between Izola and Trieste (in Italy) and these buses take about 45 minutes and cost about €3. There are also fairly regular buses from other parts of Istria (for example Koper, Piran, Pula, Rovinj and Rijeka) to Trieste. There are hourly trains between Trieste and Venice with the regular Italian railways costing about €9. I believe that there are ferries which cross between either Izola or Koper (20 minutes from Izola) to Venice but I don't know about the prices of these or whether they're only during the summer.
