check the switch which is located above the brake pedal. needs adjusting or a new one!
There's a solenoid on the steering collom. When you put on the brakes. It sends power to that solenoid. Than it should come out of park. Check fuse for brake lites. Check brake lites swicth on brake pattle.
If both are inoperative check the fuse, and the brake light switch.
Replace the flasher relay.
Turn the key to the first notch, no ign. lites. Then put the shifter in neutral and start the car. Drive to your local garage where they will fix it for you. It's the pedal lock on the brake arm.
center brake lites came out on 1994 4runners
You figure out what the cause of the problem is first.
If both do not work look to the fuses.
3. 2 for the main lites, and 1 in the center
Make sure the bulbs are inserted correctly, if o/k look for wiring issues. A common cause is a recent trailer harness installation or repair.
Couple of things. Check the ground for the loom at the rear. If that is clean and tight I would suspect that the problem is in the brake light switch.
I take it to my mechanic and say, "it's broken. Can you fix it"?
Make sure your brake lites work.If they dont replace brake lite switch
