Zebras usually sleep or doze standing up during the day; some may be brave enough to lay down for a few minutes or so for some real deep REM sleep. Usually some of the herd stays awake to watch for predators.

They normally sleep in shade of trees.
Zebras will sleep on the open plain in groups for protection. They will also take shelter under trees where available.

they sleep usually by standing up, but they will sometimes lie down. however this would make them more at risk if a predator came along.

They do not hibernate, they migrate from Serengeti to Maasai Mar with the wildebeest, which is the same thing as the gnu.

Zebras do not hibernate.
