Information flow: DNA--> RNA--> Protein This means the final protein sequence (in terms of amino acids) is largely influenced by the DNA sequence (in terms of nucleotides) When there is a DNA mutation, the mutation is transcribed to RNA. Since the RNA sequence is used during the process of translation (protein synthesis), changes in DNA bases will be reflected as differences in codons on RNA. This will result in the insertion of abnormal amino acids and and causes a difference in amino acid changes.
