He wanted to put unreasonable offers towards the wood that was very valuable, that the animals had found. He finally offers to give a proper deal and quickly he pays and gets the wood. The animals friend (kinda), the human, Whymper, said that they were infact FORGED! "Frederick had got the timber for nothing!" The animals are upset and a death sentence is passed by Napoleon.
