God, being omnipotent and eternal does not need a record keeping system, especially just to store people's names, today, yesterday or any other point in time.
The Greeks got their God's names from Pellasgians, first people to live in Balkan Peninsula. The Pellasgian God's names are best understandable today through the Albanian language. Hence, Afrodita in Albanian means "the dawn is near", Zeus in Albanian is Zot (God), Hera is Era ( Wind) etc.
they pray to communicate with God
It shows that most people believe in God and regard Him/Her as the supreme being whose name is God and is therefore capitalized because most proper names (such as names given to people) are capitalized.
No the bible does..
It is what god made it,
Do they? I'm not sure people do think that by naming God differently it changes him. God has many names - from Jehovah (jah We - I am who I am) as given to Moses to names given to Jesus (Jesus, The Christ, Emmanuel) and even the names given to the Holy Spirit (ruach, wind of God etc). It is important that God revealed these names to us throughout scripture and throughout history so that we might understand a little more about God - e.g. God is love, God is judge, the Good Shepherd, Abba Father and so on. None of these names actually changes God, and I do not know any fellow Christians who actually think that they do. We are told in scripture that God is consistent and unchanging, but names used for God, as evealed through scripture, tell us more about different aspects of his character as we learn more about him.
Names are usually have a meaning relating to what the deity is God/Goddess of.
God silly
In the Bible, God changed people's names to signify a new identity or purpose. This renaming symbolized a transformation or a new beginning in their lives, reflecting a deeper spiritual significance.
Many people today don't feel like there is a god. If they do not believe he exists they will not seek God. Also some people are jaded by organized religion and do not feel that because of the atrocities they see caused by some religions that God is not there. Some people also could feel they are too insignificant.
God, Abraham and Moses are all still called by their names. Only Jacob's name was changed and he is now called Israel.
Some recommended books about the names of God include "The Names of God" by Ken Hemphill, "The Names of God: Discovering God's Character Through His Names" by Lester Sumrall, and "The 72 Names of God: Technology for the Soul" by Yehuda Berg. These books explore the significance and meanings behind the various names of God in different religious traditions.
