No, the symptoms of the HIV virus won't start as soon as it enters the human body. The initial symptoms may appear a month after infection and are typically flu like symptoms (fever, diarrhea, nausea, swollen lymph nodes).

Many people develop cold like symptoms, minus congestion upon HIV infection, the process is called seroconversion. This can be accompanied by fever and muscle aches, most people (including health professionals) rarely realize someone is going through seroconversion. The symptons can last a few days to several weeks.

How does aids affect animals?

HIV and AIDS are not the same thing. HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) is the virus that causes humans to develop AIDS. HIV is spread through contact with infected blood, semen, vaginal fluid and breast milk. AIDS is a diagnosis that is issued by a health provider. HIV is unable to survive outside the human body. It is unable to be transmitted to any animal so it is impossible to be infected by an animal. There are other immunodeficiency viruses that infect animals however. These viruses may cause the animals to develop their own version of AIDS, however the condition would mean something much different because of the difference in disease susceptibility.

What is the difference between a disease and a sindrum?

A disease is a specific condition: measles, colds, flu, etc. They have definite symptoms, causes (usually) and treatments.A syndrome is a collection of symptoms or conditions that, taken as a whole, indicate an underlying cause that may or may not be fully understood.A specific example: Infection with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus is a disease. The issues that can develop as a result of the suppression of the immune system by HIV -- certain cancers, forms of pneumonia, thrush and a variety of other diseases -- make up the syndrome that we call AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). HIV infection alone is not AIDS.
