Both Katrina and Andre were extremely destructive category 5 hurricanes. Andrew actually held the record for the most destructive U.S. hurricane at $26 billion until Katrina came along and caused damage totaling to $105 billion.
Hurricane Katrina is greater in damage in money. Katrina has nearly 3 times as much damage in money as Hurricane Andrew does, making Katrina the costliest hurricane on record and Andrew is the second costliest. Both hit New Orleans as a category 3 hurricane. Hurricane Katrina was more deadly overall (I don't know how they rate that, sorry.)
Well, they could be alike because they had both caused damages, and reached over a category 3. They had both killed people, injured and forced people to evacuate. They had both caused flooding and heavy rain and wind. Both of the hurricanes brought the tide up so it caused the flooding.
Hope this is helpful!
:D
Hurricane Gustav caused a lesser economic impact than Hurricane Katrina. The death toll of Katrina was also significantly higher compared to Gustav.
Among recorded Atlantic hurricanes, it was the sixth strongest overall. At least 1,833 people died in the hurricane and subsequent floods

Hurricane Katrina was a category 5 hurricane.
Even before it got a name, the precursor to hurricane Katrina was tracked by the National Hurricane Center.
Hurricane Katrina was named by the National Weather service. It received this name because it was the 11th tropical storm of the season and Katrina was the 11th name on the list.
First of all, Katrina was a hurricane, not a tornado. Tornadoes do not have names. And second, no. Hurricane Katrina dissipated seven years ago and can never return. The name Katrina is retired, so no future hurricane will ever have that name.
Hurricane Katrina.
Only the one in 2005. 2005's Hurricane Katrina was bad enough that the name was retired, meaning that it will never be used to name another storm.
It didn't. A couple days after making its final landfall, the remnants of Hurricane Katrina were absorbed by another weather system.
The costliest hurricane on record was Katrina.
Yes, hurricane is a name for a tropical cyclone.
