It doesn't effect the daily life. Islam is a beautiful religion. It is the religion of all the Prophets (peace be upon them). The religion of Islam consists of easy rules you have to follow. There are 5 pillars one must perform. A person that follows the religion of Islam is called a Muslim. They have to fast a full month of Ramadan. At the end there is a big Eid. It smaller then the other one though in the month of Thul Hijjah. But in Islam there are restrictions on things you may do. For example, it is forbidden to have a girlfriend or boyfriend. It is also forbidden to hear music, and dance outside of the person's own's room. A Muslim may not whatsoever eat pork. There are ceremonies and competitions and certain parties(family gatherings) that in Islam we can do and better. There's rewards and fun. A Muslim has to pray and read the Quran. There are so many levels in being a Muslim. There's the lowest (which say their Muslims but don't act as if they are) and then there is the highest. Any Muslim that follows the religion of Islam and worships Allah and is very close to him is garaunteed what they want now and in the future. The only things that might effect a daily life is when you need a place to pray in school or in college. That's it. But in reality it's a great religion and it's fun.

Assalam o alaikum (Peace Be Upon You)

A Muslim is someone who submits himself to God's will.

A good Muslim is he who tries to submit himself completely to God's will and every Muslim must try to be a good Muslim.

A good Muslim makes the teachings of Islam integral parts of his daily life and fashions his life around them and performs acts such as giving regular charity and perform salaat (ritual prayer) on time.

He tries to please his Lord on every front.

Answer:

How do the teachings of Islam affect daily life? Islam IS our daily life. It is our way of life. It is the Law of God. Similar to the Law of Moses, but simpler to follow, it is a complete way of life for individuals as well as societies. A person can be any culture and still be a Muslim. It is the Final Law given to Mankind by God. Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the Messenger of the Covenant who was to come after the Messiah Jesus.

If the believer follows the values, laws, and advices within Islam then the believer will find their days are filled with baraqah (blessing). Even when something 'bad' happens, if the believers faith is strong, they will manage to see the good in it or be faithful that good will come out of it. The compulsery 5 prayers, second in the 5 pillars of Islam, is also timed at excellent times throughout the day. The wudu (ablution) at these times of day before prayer refreshes the believer and washes away impurities, and the salah gives the believer a chance to reflect and meditate, and remind themselves of their goals. It also teaches routine to the believer. This is one example how Islam can have a positive effect on the believer.

Muslims are united across boundaries of geography and culture through their observance of five practices known as the Five Pillars, or the Pillars of Islam. These include pledging one's faith (witnessing, the shahadah), ritual prayer (salat), charity to the poor (zakat), fasting during the month of Ramadan (sawm), and pilgrimage to the holy city of Mecca (hajj). The Five Pillars are mentioned in the Quran, and are required of all Muslims. Sunni and Shi'i Muslims agree that these are the essential duties of all Muslims. The Five Pillars are strong expressions of the Islamic ideals of equality and unity. The pillars of ritual prayer, the Ramadan fast, and the hajj are particularly powerful signs of Muslim egalitarian unity, since all Muslims in all places pray, fast, and go on pilgrimage at the same time.

The profession of faith (witnessing), or shahadah, very simply states that "There is no god but God (Allah), and Muhammad is the messenger of God." A person becomes a Muslim by reciting this sentence with sincere belief in the presence of witnesses. It is also recited in daily prayer, and inscribed outside the doors and inside the domes of mosques. It captures the essential Islamic belief in one absolute God, and affirms that Muhammad was God's messenger, the last and final prophet sent by God.

Ritual prayer, or salat, is a basic activity of daily life. Muslims are called to pray five times a day: before dawn, at midday, in the mid-afternoon, at sunset, and at night. The call to prayer is made by a muezzin, who calls out from the top of a tower, called a minaret. The muezzin's call is an art form, and begins by proclaiming "God is great" (Allahu akbar), and then continues "I bear witness that there is no god but God; I bear witness that Muhammad is the messenger of God; hasten to prayer; hasten to success; establishing the communal ritual of prayer." In many places in the contemporary Islamic world, recordings of a muezzin's call are played over loudspeakers, replacing a live person.

Before praying, one is expected to perform a ritual ablution, cleansing both mind and body. If water is available, the hands, arms, face, neck, and feet are washed. Prayers are performed facing in the direction of Mecca. While praying together is preferred to solitary prayer, Muslims can pray wherever they happen to be, whether alone or in groups. They can pray outdoors, at home, or in the mosque. It is obligatory for Muslim males to attend the mosque for the Friday noon prayer, a special time set aside for communal prayer.
