In January, volunteers throw used Christmas trees into wooden structures called cribs. These cribs extend across lakes where soil erosion has occurred or can occur. Instead of water waves reaching coasts or beaches where erosion can occur, the cribs with trees receive the force. Plus, the tree branches catch sediments, which builds a soil wall that also diffuses the force.
Louisiana has shown losses of over 25 acres without intervention. With Christmas tree cribs, they only had about 3 and 1/2 acres lost where there was a long tree crib in use.

There are a number of reasons why trees could prevent flooding. These trees can absorb the excess water for example.
No. Christmas trees are traditionally pine.
Soil erosion.
Christmas trees cannot talk.
Trees help prevent erosion by stabilizing the soil with their roots. The roots of trees hold the soil in place, reducing the risk of erosion caused by wind and water. Additionally, the canopy of trees helps to reduce the impact of rainfall on the soil, further preventing erosion.
I know they use artificial Christmas trees in the US! I imagine they use artificial Christmas trees everywhere, but now I am interested as to whether there is a country that absolutely does not use artificial Christmas trees in place of live.
Ornaments aren't really a symbol of Christmas. They're just used to decorate Christmas trees. Christmas trees are a symbol for Christmas.
