Once there, they were removed, then moved to a hangar where key components were removed for maintenance prior to use on the next mission. Examples of components removed for maintenance are the Ammonia Boiler System (main shuttle AC unit), Reaction Control System (RCS) actuator valves, Orbiter Maneuvering System (OMS) actuator valves, Main Engine Liquid Oxygen/Liquid Hydrogen valves, Power Units, etc..
