Do animals have PMS when they have their period?

While animals do experience reproductive cycles, not all species exhibit symptoms akin to premenstrual syndrome (PMS) as seen in humans. In some mammals, such as dogs and cats, behavioral changes may occur during their estrous cycle, but these are not universally recognized as PMS. The experience of discomfort or mood changes varies widely among different species and individuals. Overall, while hormonal fluctuations do affect animals, the concept of PMS is primarily a human phenomenon.
