If you are talking about the EXHAUST manifold then most of the time it's the valve cover gasket that is leaking oil. REPLACE VALVE COVER GASKETS. If you are talking about the intake manifold then it has 2 rubber gaskets in the front and rear of it that leak oil real bad. If oil is on the left are right top sides of the intake manifold were the valve covers are then it will be the valve cover gaskets that are leaking oil.
The intake manifold is bolted on the center of the engine between the 2 Valve covers.
From the manual: 5.7L V-8 The PCV valve is mounted into the top of the intake manifold, located to the right / rear of the throttle body (Fig. 12). The PCV valve is sealed to the intake manifold with 2 o-rings (Fig. 13). (1) Remove PCV valve by rotating counter-clockwise 90 degrees until locating tabs have been freed. After tabs have cleared, pull valve straight up from intake manifold. (2) After valve is removed, check condition of 2 valve o-rings.
They are almost always on the valve cover connected to a 1/2" hose leading directly to the intake manifold/throghtle body
The manifold if the metal tube that directs the gas from the gas valve to (2-10) orifices so each orifice receives the same amount of pressure. This manifold is factory made and should never be changed.
Standing in front of the auto, the PCV valve is located on your left. The PCV screws into the intake manifold just above the alternator. 1. Remove the two cap screws (10 mm) to remove the intake manifold cover. 2. Remove the PCV hose using needle nose pliers. 3. Use a 17 mm deep well socket to remove the PCV valve from the intake manifold. 4. Install the new PCV valve, PCV hose and intake manifold cover.
theres 2 vacuum pipes that run to the pcv valve, one at the side of the top of the manifold and one from the very back of the manifold. once you've traced the pcv valve it simply pops straight out. good luck where is it best acessed from the driver side or pass side?
To turn the valve you have to hold R1 and L1 (default) and turn the remote control to the way the arrow points. If this doesn't work try R2 and L2.
The egr valve is located on the drivers side of the engine on the rear of the intake manifold. Its held on by 2 bolts and has a vacuum line on the top of the diaphram.
This valve is right on top of the engine, where the big airhose connects to the intake manifold. Therefore, replace using the following steps. 1. remove old valve 2. put new valve on
I have a 99 tracker 2 liter - I just replaced the pcv valve $15 Off of the manifold there are 2 hoses going to valve cover - One of them has a plastic L shaped pcv valve attached to it sticking in the cover Pull it out then replace and shove back in. If you buy the pcv valve you can visually ID it on the hose Good luck
It is located towards the rear of the car on the intake manifold For more info refer to haynes manual or service manual I found the PCV valve on my 1989 Honda Accord DX (carbureted). It is at the rear side of the engine almost directly below the center of the front edge of the top of the air cleaner housing. The valve is mounted vertically in the intake manifold. The only difficulty is that the air cleaner housing has to be removed -- four nuts, as well as a number of vacuum hoses disconnected. Also ideally I need to do the whole procedure again as I didn't get the valve to seat well in the manifold; I need to find a 2" long (approx.), about 1/2 inch in diameter, piece of copper pipe or somthing similar to tap the valve down into the manifold firmly.
