there is no such thing as a 97 caprice they stoped making them in 96
caprice was not built in 97..
bolt pattern of what??????????????????????? the production for Chevy caprice stopped in 96 unless your talking about the Australian caprice, which is not gm.
Remove The Radiator And Have A Radiator Shop Test, And Flush It.
Should be in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
The water pump on a 97 Chevy Malibu 4 cylinder is replaced by removing the engine accessories, drive belt, and radiator hoses. The pump can then be unbolted, removed, and a new pump installed.
To change the thermostat on a 97 Chevy Tahoe, drain the radiator. Locate the part under the upper hose register and loosen the screw holding it in place. Replace it by putting in the new part and bolting it back down.
It will fit right in, But the problem is that the 97 computer system will not hook up to the 93 engine. therefore the 93 engine WON'T RUN and the transmission won't work in the 97 anymore. The 97 MUST have the VORTEC engine installed in it. Then everything will WORK RIGHT.
Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. It will lead you to the thermostat housing. Drain coolant from radiator, remove upper radiator hose from engine, remove the two bolts holding the thermostat housing to engine, remove housing, remove thermostat.
NO won't work. The wiring harness for the transmission on the 90 model will not hook up to the 97 4L60E transmission. And the ECM / computor on the 90 model will no operate the 97 electronic transmission. You can NOT use anything newer then a 1991
It will fit BUT NOTHING will hook up on it as far as the wiring harness and computer system that's on the 97. The transmission will not shift either and you would have to change the fuel pump that's in the tank. Nother words you would need the wiring, fuel pump, computer out of the 93 and install all of it into the 97.
At the bottom, or rear fo the radiator or remove lower radiator hose.
