It will act like it's constipated(plugged up)when backing up.Sometimes it will feel like you have transmission problems,as it will overrev and not shift right.
One symptom of a bad crank shaft sensor is the car having trouble starting. The car stalling and backfiring are other symptoms of a bad crank shaft sensor.
From my experience, If your crank sensors bad the car will not start up at all.
No, the engine will still crank over but will not start if this sensor is bad because it controls the fuel injection circuit.
car will not start if the crank shaft positing sensor is bad ..because it control the car spark plug firing..( no fire no start )
A faulty crank sensor would make the engine not run.
A bad crankshaft sensor on a 2.3 Ford may cause the car to not start. A bad crankshaft sensor can crank, just not start.
A bad crank sensor will definitely cause the car to stall. Eventually the car will stop starting up again, or if it does, it will die down around ten minutes. A good thing to do if you're sure it's the crank sensor, replace it.
The engine won't run.
They way you can tell if the Crank sensor is bad, is when you run the car for a while and then turn it off, and when you go to start it back up, it won't start, then it's your crank sensor, it's probably cracked, so when it heats up it expands and doesn't make contact. but if you let the car cool off, it will go back together and start up, A faulty crank sensor should trigger a check engine light.
Ye, it will turn over.
if your crank position sensor is bad you car or truck will not start because you will not have spark
Check the diagnostic codes on your vehicle, if the crank sensor is bad the car's computer should know it. Can't really give more specific information without the make/model of the vehicle in question. if vehicle is equipted w/ a tach. watch tach while cranking, if tach doesnt move while cranking USUALLY means bad crank sensor
