A bad crank sensor will definitely cause the car to stall. Eventually the car will stop starting up again, or if it does, it will die down around ten minutes. A good thing to do if you're sure it's the crank sensor, replace it.
sounds like a crankshaft positioning sensor. must be at low speeds and stop signs?
crankshaft position censor
Check your crankshaft position sensor and wireing going to it.
Needs crankshaft sensor and or camshaft sensor
If it's stalling while driving, it could be the problem with either the crankshaft positioning sensor or mass air flow sensor. Check to see if you have a check engine light on. If so, you need to retrieve the code from auto parts store. Only then you will be able to find out the actual problem.
When driving the IAC does not do anything because the car is not at an idle
A Volvo may stall while driving due to several reasons, including fuel delivery issues, a faulty ignition system, or problems with the engine's air intake. Other potential causes could include a malfunctioning sensor, such as the Mass Airflow Sensor or Crankshaft Position Sensor, which can disrupt engine performance. Additionally, electrical issues or a weak battery can lead to stalling. Regular maintenance and diagnostics can help identify and resolve these issues.
