From personal experience a mother bear will charge you (run at you) if her cub is caught in a bear trap. But will then break off and return to her crying cub. Wild bears do not interact with people. They are wild and behave erratically. They may or may not grunt a warning if you come across one. If threatened they will charge after you and maul you.
