The basics of car healights are the same as a household light bulb. The electricity flows from the source, through a switch, to the bulb and the bulb has a wire in it that heats up and gives off light. The bulb is sealed to keep air out so that the wire inside does not break when it gets hot.
There are some different things in cars though, they can have sensors built in that can make them come on by themselves when it gets dark. They can have sensors that turn on and off high beam headlights that allow the driver to see more when no other cars are approaching. They can have high intensity and special light sources.
Then the headlights won't work.
my car does the same exact thing<, hasn't made a difference so?
Some cars allow you to leave one or other headlight on when you are parked in the street at night (for safety) - have you checked if your car does this in the manual - if it does then you will be able to switch it off.
I believe that normally headlight wipers only work occasionally, at set intervals when the car thinks that they may be dirty.
Could be a fuse or the wiring in the car
that means you need to change the headlight on the left side because it went out....i had the same problem with another car.........
No headlight relay listed. The headlight circuit breaker is integral with the headlight switch.
Probably the headlight switch is bad. When you turn the switch on, it sends current to the dash dimmer switch. Sometimes the contacts get loose in the headlight switch and it needs to be replaced.
