They are ambush killers. They lie down and wait then rush forward to grab their prey. To kill their prey they take it to the water to drown and dismember it. Sometimes they get fruit from trees too!
Chincillas get their food by pick out the plant with it's frount teeth and holding it in it's frount paws to eat it.
They dip their' noses into the bowl, pick the food up with their mouth, and takes the food out of their' mouth with a paw, and then they eat it like we eat a chocolate bar!! Cute, or what?! :-)

Chinchillas are small rodents. They can do many things. For example, they have opposable thumbs so they pick up things including their food. They eat with their hands. Chinchillas also can jump amazing distances. Not only can they jump far, but they can jump high. Also, chinchillas love to climb. They can usually escape an open cage quickly.

It depends on the chinchilla. Some chinchillas run around their cages. All of the bedding and food gets scattered everywhere, but some chinchillas are more relaxed. They sit around all day without making a mess. Chinchillas produce a lot of feces, so cleaning their cage should be done every 1 or 2 weeks.
