The level of oxygen that the body is getting is low so it would most likely start to breath faster. By doing that the heart rate will also increase so that the blood can deliver the oxygen to the tissues. Over all the body will produce more red blood cells to use the oxgen efficiently.

You got this question from FCAT Explorer didn't you?

Well here is the answer....

Because the level of oxygen in the air is so low, the body would need to breathe more often to be able to absorb the same amount of oxygen at a lower altitude. So, the breathing rate would increase. Also, the heart rate would increase in order to get the blood containing the oxygen out to the tissues. Over time the body would also begin to produce more red blood cells to use the available oxygen more efficiently.

... I know it is quite helpless now for the person who asked...

But here is for other FCAT Explorer users.
