Well, he most likely listens to it with a stethoscope. He places the little things at the end of the stethoscope tube in his ear and places the cold valve a little below your left nipple. If you are laying down, he might ask you to turn over to listen to your back and he might ask you to take deep breaths. Now, he is listening to your lungs to see if there are any fluids around. He may also listen to your stomach to see if there are any weird noises.
