One should pry the lock switch from the door panel and unplug the wiring. Then plug the new lock switch to the wiring and push the button to make sure it works. Put the new lock into door panel
My girlfriend has a tercel and her door lock has failed when it was locked ..... And WE had just used a coat hanger to open it up mind you it was not easy but it works now I did not lock it after wards until had replaced it.............

Well, if you have a door that opens inward from the outside, then you should wedge some coins in the edge of the door, on the bottom on the door; So when you come back from school etc. you just take them out. Hopefully this works well for you as it worked for me
