Because of the size of a giraffe, they cannot go to a watering hole like other animals, they have to bend down in an awkward position making them defencless to predators, they get their hydration from the liquid in the equkalyptus leaves they eat. Because they eat so much leaves a day, there is enough water in them to keep them hydrated.
