It doesn't have to. Ligers only occur when humans have encouraged tigers and lions to make, which wouldn't happen in the wild. This means all ligers lead sheltered lives in zoos and parks and don't have to worry about things like protecting themselves or hunting.
A liger is the top cat predetor. See "What is a liger," for more details on them.
They would, be if they ever got the chance.
ligers only predator is man because no liger is introduce to the wild because of the danger that might be caused
If anything, it'd be a predator. But as the liger(tiger-lion offspring) is a man-made mix only found in private collections, the definition is fairly pointless. They all get fed by humans.
the predator catches their prey by crouching down and sneaking up on the animal
The relationship in the ecosystem if a pond frog catches a fly on his tongue is predator and prey. The frog is the predator and the fly is its prey.

An animal that eats other animals is known as a carnivore or secondary (or tertiary) consumer. An animal that catches and kills another animal (in order to eat it) is known as a predator (in ecology this would be a "true predator"). Examples of true predators are lions, wolves and eagles.
A predator is an animal who preys on other animals, who catches them and eats them.
