How do you connect a computer to a mixing board?

It depends on your application. My mixing board is connected with a FireWire connection, bypassing the computers sound card. The computer then recognizes the board as it's card, and plays through it. Alesis makes a great 8 channel digital board. If your computer doesn't have a FireWire out, I suppose you could use the regular speaker out and go to and open channel on any board. This will not give you a two way connection however, just an audio out. The FireWire connection can be used for both recording and playing audio.
