Well, when the parachute is opened, and you jump, the air gets in and pushes the parachute, trying to make it go up, while gravity is working to push it down, which makes you slow down and land safely.
A parachute slows down the descent of a person by creating drag and increasing air resistance. When a person jumps with a parachute, the parachute opens up and generates enough drag to slow down the fall, allowing the person to land safely without getting hurt.
if there is no air then both will take same time. But due to presence of air person who is without parachute will take less time.
yes it is possible to parachute without a "parachute" there is a suit which u wear called a squirrel suite i believe which allows the air to be caught acting as a "brake" there for slowing you down but i am not sure if it works completley
The parachute will increase air resistance, compared to the person alone.
You have a small person under the small parachute.
In parasailing the person in a parachute is towed by a powered vehicle like a boat. In wind surfing, the person under the parachute canopy is not attached to any vehicle by a rope. The wind will just blow the parachute and pull the person under it.

A parachute allows a person to jump out of a plane and land safely on the ground. A disadvantage is that (rarely) a parachute may fail to fully open and injury and death is likely.
