Yes I guess the question is related to the visible light. The visible light is transverse in nature. One more important point is that the light waves are not mechanical waves. Mecahnical waves do need a material medium to get traversed. Sound waves are mechanical waves. But light being non mechanical and being electromagnetic it can pass even through vacuum.
Love waves and Rayleigh waves are both guided waves. Love waves occur in a thin plate, while Rayleigh waves are a combination of transverse and longitudinal waves on the surface of a half-space.
All the things I look at are reflections of visible light waves. I seldom get more than waist deep in the ocean waves. Neither is nesesarily longer a wave can go on forever. Visible light is more reflective than infared light so it will last longer. If you are talking about wavelength, infared lights wavelength is longer.

Conventional lasers do not emit gamma radiation. Lasers use electromagnetic waves in the visible spectrum; this is light that you can actually see. Gamma rays are electromagnetic waves with much more energy and much higher frequency than visible light.
