It does it because that's how a seahorse swims. It can't just swim moving its tail side to side thinking it's gonna get somewhere. It straightens it because it's tail is curled and no fish can swim with a curled tail.
As we all know, seahorses have a curled up tail! So they use that tail to hold on to seagrasses in case of rest or emergency(such as hiding or holding on when there is a swish of flying water....etc.)
Seahorses lack a tail fin so they are dependent on on their prehensile tail. Prehensile meaning it has the ability to hold on to rocks, corals or other objects and allows the seahorse to be anchored in one position. Seahorses use their tails in a number of different ways, such as in their mating rituals.
Seahorse tails are considered partially prehensile, which means that they can wrap it around plants to hold on (kind of like a monkey on a branch). Having had them hanging on my finger, I can tell you that they have a prett good grip! They spend a lot of time just hanging on to plants as a type of camouflage. They can be very hard to spot when they aren't actively swimming They also use their tails as sort of a counter balance, to keep them upright when swimming. During courtship/mating they cling to their partner and will swim attached to each other in a sort of 'underwater dance'. When the female is ready to transfer her eggs to the male seahorse's pouch, they hang on tightly together.
It swims with its dorsal fin which they rapidly flutter
a seahorse uses its prehensile tail to hang on to coral
it use hos tail to attack people and to swim fast
A seagull uses its tail for theft.
A seahorse has a prehensile tail, meaning they use it to grip things. To rest or feed (or hide), they use the tail to grasp coral or seagrasses.
Tiger tail seahorse was created in 1850.

The seahorse uses its tail both for mobility and stability. The tail aids with movement through the water. The tail can also cling to coral and plants to keep itself still.
no they don't have.. they only have tail....
yes they are
because they use there tail to swim, and they don't have a tail on the front so they cant swim backwards.
