In simple terms - they don't !

Egg-laying snakes mainly 'abandon' their eggs in moist, warm places (such as a compost heap). The warm, moist environment is ideal for incubating the eggs until they hatch. Live-bearing snakes incubate the developing embryos inside the female's body until she's ready to give birth.

In either scenario - once the baby snakes arrive - they are completely independent from the 'mother' and will quickly disperse in search fro their first meal.
