It can help a plant because it has organs and organs are tissues also because it prevents special jobs and also because the stem could be a straw sucking the water in the plant without the stem the plant would die That is why a stem is important to a plant

well think of a stem as a starw, you cant drink without using the starw sucking up the drink ( well you coluld but just imagin ) its like the plants own little water pipe.
