Usually. It can also pull the signal from a spark wire.

Each spark plug has it's own ignition coil, they are on the spark plug itself. Unplug the ignition coil connector, remove the bolt holding the coil in place, pull the coil off of the spark plug and out of the valve cover. Install the new coil.
Take off the plastic engine cover , take out the bolt that hold the coil , take out the coil.
The tach works off of the distributor.
take the wires off the + and - side of the coil, pull the coil wire out of the coil, unbolt the coil from the manifold, to install just reverse directions.
unplug wires to coil.remove the 7mm bolt pull coil off.
take the air filter housing off on left side the ignition coils
it is an ignition problem...could be the ignition switch or the ignition coil if i rember right
let the engine running, lift off the ignition coil one by one after opening the screw...a tick sounds will be heard ... no tick sound and gasoline leak on the plug thread means the ignition coil is busted.
Nothing. Just dry it off an it will be fine.
No a diode will not work when the ignition key is off.
