Mainly work of the HUB in a network that HUB is used to connect multi computers of different network in a single network.Different computers are connected with the hub with the help of individual ports and then perform different type o networking tasks as a single network.

so HUB provides communication between different network.and HUB is used for Broadcasting.

There is three types of Hub

1. passive:- The first type of the networking hub is the passive hub. Passive hub does not perform any particular function but it just behaves like a bridge between the cables of connection and just receives the information and forwards it with out any change in topology.

2. Active:- Second type of the networking hub is the active hub. This type of hub is quite similar to that of the passive hub but can perform the additional tasks. Active hubs are those hubs that can work as connector between two regions but also has ability to regenerate the information with the help of strong electrical signals. it is also called as the multi port repeater. It helps in the communication and can upgrade the properties of the signals before delivery.

3. Intelligent (managble):- The third and the last type of the hub that can perform the both functions of the active and the passive hub is generally referred to as the intelligent hub. Basically this hub provides the opportunity to increase the speed of networking and also make the performance of the network efficient as compared to other devices. Addition to their specific work intelligent hubs can also perform the different functions that of routing, bridging etc.

How do you charge a Sansa e250 you just got one?

One way is to plug it into the computer via the USB cable. That will charge the battery. But if you plug the USB cable into a USB hub, you will need a powered USB hub to charge the battery. A powered USB hub will have a power adaptor that plugs into the wall. Bypassing the hub and plugging it directly into the computer should always work if the computer is powered up. Also there are some USB chargers that you can plug it into. These accept a USB connection but only supply power. Any USB charger should work, USB is a standard.

What is an active USB hub?

An active USB hub is a USB hub which has its own power supply. It will come with a DC power adaptor to power it. The USB system in your computer is capable of providing electrical power to devices which are plugged into it. When a large number of devices, or some particularly power-hungry devices are plugged into the USB system, it is possible to overexert this system. An active USB hub shores up this this power reducing the likelyhood of problems. A passive USB hub does not. Additionally, USB devices will often not work properly with more than 12 feet of cable. An active USB hub (or active USB extension cable) can help to overcome this limitation.
