A wolf has a scent. It has a greater smell sense then ours. We have about 5,000 smell senses, while wolves and dogs have about....50,000. A wolf tracks down a group of preys, and with its own pack, sneaks up behind the prey, and chases after it. Slowly, the prey becomes hurt alot. The wolves continue biting and choking the prey until the prey is dead. Then the wolf drags its food where no other pack can steal it, and then, Bon appetit!

It depends on the subspecies or species of wolf. For the grey wolf, its long teeth, good smelling, and long legs help it run faster, dectect from long differnences, and slash easier at its prey. For the Ethiopean wolf, its short stature and good hearing help it pounce on small vermin underground.
You catch food by setting traps to catch them. Other ways are by fishing, harvesting, and hunting for food.
