Acid rain is corrosive and reacts with the minerals in the rocks, sometimes dissolving them and sometimes making them change into a gas. This weakens the rocks which then fall apart and get washed away.

Limestone is effervescent with all acids, you can try it by adding lemon, vinegar, or any other acid to a chalk, you will notice hydrogen bubbles. :)

the rain is more acidic so it wares away carbonate materials. and for regular rocks the force it has on the rock breaks the rock into sediments.
