Any catalyst will make a chemical reaction easier or quicker to happen by lowering the activation energy. On a energy diagram, you will see a lower "hill" for activation energy, which corresponds to less energy required to begin the reaction.

Compare and contrast chemical and nuclear reactions in regards to the parts of the atom involved in the reaction and the amount of energy produced?

A nucleus is the center of an atom, with the protons and neutrons. A chemical reaction is a reaction between one or more elements that changes it (or them) into a new substance, like frying an egg, or mixing baking soda and vinegar with baking soda.A NUCLEAR reaction (if that is what you were looking for) is a reaction between different atoms that causes them to fuse or break apart, becoming a new element, like fusing lithium and hydrogen to make helium. Nuclear reactions usually make ALOT of energy. Just look at the Sun.(WARNING: I don't actually mean for you to actually look at the Sun, since you can blind yourself. I just mean for you to use the Sun as an example.)

Does fossil fuels have chemical energy?

With regards to energy, oil is a naturally occurring mixture of many different chemicals. We purify, or refine, it into more useful forms, such as diesel and gasoline. The energy itself is purely chemical, until the fuel is burned, at which point it generates heat and pushes the engine (kinetic energy), which ultimately drives the car or truck.

What do enzymes help?

Enzymes are biological catalysts, meaning they can speed up chemical reactions without being used up themselves. They do this by breaking down molecules, the molecules that each enzyme breaks down are different and they are called the substrate, so simply, each different type of enzyme can break down a different substrate. Enzymes have an area called an active site on them, this is where substrate is broken down. Hope this helps, I can explain in more detail if required

What are conventional bombs?

The conventional bombs are the non-nuclear ones. They use a exotermic chemical reaction to obtain a sudden release of great amount of energy. In such weapons, nuclear fission and fussion are not significant source of energy, and radiocativity is not used as part of its offensive power. Regards, Mario/Brazil
