Anorexia can essentially starve the cells. This can make them die off or just become smaller or affect how well they function. Malnutrition (as a result of eating disorders) can also slow cell production and re-growth rates, too.
Anorexia is horrible on your body. If you are considering this lifestyle (Yes it will turn into a lifestyle even if you think its harmless now), then you have just set yourself up for suicide. I 'm not saying this to be mean or scare you, but just to help you. Anorexia will destroy every organ in your body. And, believe me, you need those to LIVE. Heat attacks, kidney failure, liver failure, you name it. It even messes with your brain function to the point you will be considered as a crazy person. Your hair will literally fall out in clumps until you have bald spots everywhere and will be replaced by a white fur all your body to keep yourself warm, because you have lost almost all of your body weight to keep you warm--you're literally freezing to death! It will hurt to walk, sit, touch things, and just be, because your bones are sticking out everywhere. It can effect your eyesight to the point of needing glasses. Your fingernails will be extremely brittle and chip. Skin will appear to have a yellowish tone and will be extremely dry and flaky. these are just a few things. Please. I'm begging you! Don't do this to yourself--don't kill yourself.
