What would happen if someone copied from Wikipedia to make a book?

Copying from Wikipedia to make a book is fair game, with a few minor caveats. (See related link for the Wikipedia copyrights details, the primary exception is that their license covers content produced by Wikipedia but not necessarily content quoted from a third party.)In brief, anyone can use Wikipedia content for anything (with a few exceptions, see the related link) ifYou provide credit to the authorsIf you make changes, you must say so in the bookYou must print or link to the Wikipedia licenseAny modifications you make fall under the same licenseSo printing out Wikipedia and distributing it in book form should be no problem.A tricky issue would be if you were to mix Wikipedia content and your own contributions and wanted to keep a private copyright on the content you wrote yourself. According to the Wikipedia license your modifications to their content will fall under their license, so if you want something different for the parts you write yourself you would need to separate it somehow.See related link for Wikipedias copyright page, and check with a lawyer if there are significant amounts of money involved.
