ABS senses when your tires have lost traction and induce a changing pressure on the brake pads, reducing the pressure to regain control, then reapplying however much pressure you are telling the system to apply through the brake pedal. This is the thumping you feel when the ABS activates. ABS is q safety feature that helps you stay in control of the vehicle because as you're tires lock up you lose steering controllability, especially on slick surfaces.
yes they do have antilock brakes
yes they do have antilock brakes
They work great. Try it on ice compared to regular brakes. I am a certified mechanic and I was amazed. fb
2 wheel antilock brakes only work on the rear wheels, while 4 wheel antilock brakes work on all 4 wheels.
Yep!
Antilock brakes do not increase the braking force.
breaking stability
Your brakes need bleeding. And if you have antilock brakes, you should take it to a shop to bleed them. It takes special tools to bleed antilock brakes. If you have regular brakes you can bleed them yourself. Could go into further detail but would take too long to explain. Refer to a repair manual. Note: bleeding antilock brakes without first disconnecting the sensor will damage the sensor and the antilock function will no longer work (learned the hard way, unfortunately).
Keeping the brakes from locking up will allow you to steer out of a situation.
Hey Brad No, They should be ok. GoodluckJOe
