Apostolic Tradition, or Apostolic Example, is the second of three means of establishing scriptural authority. The three means are as follows:
1. Direct/Express Command
2. Apostolic Example
3. Necessary Inference
Apostolic example is necessary for the establishing of God's will, as the Apostles were inspired by the Holy Spirit.
The Apostle Paul writes in 2 Thessalonians 2:15, "Therefore, brethren, stand fast and hold the traditions which you were taught, whether by word or our epistle."
This verse establishes that Apostolic Tradition/Example is equal in law to direct commandments.
Apostolic Tradition occurs in two ways: through the living transmission of the word of God (also simply called Tradition) and through Sacred Scripture which is the same proclamation of salvation in written form.
Apostolic Tradition means that the Teachings of the Church can be traced all the way back to the Apostles.
The understanding of Cathechism of Catholic church is simply its definite interpretation of the word of God.This teaching composed of Sacred Scripture, the church magisterium, the apostolic tradition.
Many Catholic beliefs and practices are not found in scripture so to justify these they put tradition before the scriptures
There is no canoninical scripture that refers to Anne. What we know about her is through tradition.
Tradition is all things having to do with a particular religion that are handed down from generation to generation. This would include written Scripture, creeds and other writings and teachings about the faith. So Scripture can be seen as part of the greater Tradition of faith.
The Old Testament from the Holy Bible relates specifically to Jewish scripture, and many of the things in the New Testament were prophesied about in Jewish scripture. Muslim scripture does not relate to either Jewish or Christian scripture because Jewish and Christian scripture are from God.
Here's a good one for you http://upci.org/doctrine/baptism.asp In the Apostolic church, we use the scripture in the new testament Acts 2:38 when baptizing someone.
Yes
Scripture and Tradition
Catholic AnswerThe Church needs Tradition because that is what Our Blessed Lord gave Her. She needs Scripture because She inherited the Old Testament from the Jews, ultimately from God, and Tradition gave Her the New Testament. They are both the Word of God, which means that, in a very real sense, they are Our Blessed Lord, Jesus Christ. But in the end, Tradition (with a captial "T") is what God gave us, all Scripture came out of Tradition and the New Testament expressly tells us that we must abide by Tradition and Scripture.
There is nothing in scripture or tradition that can answer that question.
