What is the main pollutant created form the burning of fossil fuels?

Carbon dioxide (CO2).Carbon Dioxide. (CO2)

What are sources of ethane?

Sources of Ethane are: cooking gas venting and flaring fossil fuels burning of biomass biofuels geologic and oceanic microbic.

How does burning fossil fuels affect the nitrogen cycle?

Burning fossil fuels alters the amount of nitrogen in the Earth's atmosphere. Specifically, there has been a significant increase in nitric oxide levels since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution.

Why doesn't the complete combustion of ethanol from sugercane contribute to global warming?

Ethanol from sugar cane is a biofuel. Burning biomass or biofuel does not contribute to global warming. When the sugar cane was recently growing it removed carbon dioxide from the air. When the ethanol is burnt, that same carbon dioxide is returned to the air. This is part of the natural carbon cycle. The carbon dioxide that comes from burning fossil fuels (coal, oil and natural gas) was taken out of the atmosphere millions of years ago, so releasing it now is adding extra CO2 (and causing global warming). This is why biomass is renewable energy and better than fossil fuels.

Why are fossil fuels not considered to be minerals?

Most likely because fossil fuels are not minerals. They are ultimately composed of organic matter which came from living things that died and became buried under sediment. Through a lot of time and a great amount of pressure the fossil fuels were developed. This is also why fossil fuels are considered non-renewable resources because it takes so long to make them. Biomass energy is renewable as Fossil Fuels are not

Are field crops fossil fuels or biomass fuels?

BIOMASS

Is biomass bad for the environment?

The biomass is the amount of living matter in an environment. It is neither good nor bad. Humans are part of the biomass of their environment. The environment can only support a certain amount of biomass before the resources are depleted.

Is natural gas a biomass or fossil fuel?

Fossil fuel

In what way are biomass and fossil fuels similar?

Fossil fuels and biomass fuels have similar origins. Firewood is an example of a biomass fuel. Fossil fuels are similar to biomass in that their creation also begins with microorganisms and plants using energy from the sun to fix CO2 into carbohydrates but there are several more steps in the creation of fossil fuels.

Is fecal material a biomass or fossil fuel?

Fecal material is a biomass and is renewable.

Pollutant not created by fossil fuels?

One example of a deadly pollutant not created by fossil fuels is highly toxic radioactive waste, which is the bi-product of using radioactive isotopes.

What does most air pollutant come from?

Buring of fossil fuels

Is wood and coal both fossil fuels?

No. Coal is fossil, wood is renewable, biomass.

Is CHARCOAL biomass fuel or fossil fuel?

Charcoal is created from biomass by a flash fire at an elevated pressure in biomass. the fire spreads through the biomass, turning it into charcoal.
