There are 4 steps

1. Prophase- when DNA in the nucleus form double stranded chromosomes

2. Metaphase- When the chromosomes line up vertically in the center of the nucleus

3. Anaphase- The chromosomes split apart and move to opposite sides of the nucleus

4. Telophase/cytokinesis- When 2 new nuclei form, and at the same time for animal cells, the cell membrane pinches, and pulls apart. For plants, a cell plate forms between the 2 nuclei.

What type of cell division can occur in both haploid and diploid cells?

Mitotic Cell Division occurs in both haploid and diploid cells

Neoplasms occur when cells go wild and the normal controls of cell are lost?

Where do cell division happens in human?

Wherever ever there are cells, cell divisions will occur.

Does cell division occur at the same rate in skin cells as in blood cells?

No, cell division does not occur at the same rate in skin cells as in blood cells. Skin cells undergo continuous division, as they need to constantly replace old and damaged cells, while blood cells have shorter life spans and go through more rapid and frequent division to maintain an adequate supply in the bloodstream.

Why mitotic cell division is called homotypic cell division?

Mitotic cell division is called homotypic cell division because no crossing over is occur in this division and pairing of homologous cromosome is also not occur. So caracteristics of daughter cells is same as mother cell. As there is no variation occur, so this type of cell division may called homotypic cell division.

How are mitosis and meiosis simlair?

Meiosis and Mitosis are both the division of something. Meiosis is the division of chromosomes and Mitosis is the division of cells. They both occur in the cell cycle. Meiosis creates 4 daughter cells and Mitosis creates two complete cells.

Does mitosis occur in all cells?

Yes mitosis is a nuclear division - Mitosis is the process of nuclear division of either diploid or haploid eukaryotic cells whereby two daughter nuclei are produced that are genetically identical to the parent nucleus.Cell division then follows nuclear division.
