By the time Leafpool gets back to ThunderClan, Cinderpelt had already been gravely injured in her attempt to protect Sorreltail from the badger attack as she kitted. After Cinderpelt dies, Sorreltail names her gray kit Cinderkit for both the similarities between her kit and Cinderpelt and also in memory of her.

Cinderpelt dies in the 5th warriors book ( twilight) in the 2ND SERIES!! Not the 1st 2nd or 3rd book in the 3rd series. Yes, Cinderkit is Cinderpelt. StarClan let Cinderpelt relive her life, because that was not her wanted destiny. So they sent her back, letting her become a Warrior. It was her Second chance. She is now know as Cinderheart. Cinderheart does not know that she is Cinderpelt. Sometimes she has flashbacks of the old camp in the forest and from when she was a medicine cat. And she wonders why she has a vast knowledge of medicine and herbs. ;)
