It involves protecting habitats from destruction (such as deforestation for timber and farmland), preventing pollution (such as pesticides getting into the water system and harming wildlife), and preventing over hunting animals. Also, in cases where a species is already endangered, breeding programs that release animals into the wild are also an important part of conservation.
