Convection cells are lava underneath the surface of the earth that moves in a circular motion! When the lava gets closer to the centre of the earth, because heat rises, it goes upwards in a circular motion. Then it's further away from the heat so it cools down, and cool air sinks, so it goes down! The process is completed and this is called a convection cell this repeats everyday under the surface!
Convection currents in the mantle are believed to be the cause of plate movement. Molten material from the deep earth rises due to its heat and temperature, displacing material at the top, which moves to the side. This lateral movement causes the lithospheric plates to 'ride' the currents, thus moving the plates.
the theory of convection is when warm currents/matter gets pulled to the surface in circular rotations, this supports the continental drift theory.
The warm air moves in a circle.
Yes indeed.
They move tectonic plates
false
Mantle convection causes the tectonic plates of the Earth to move slowly. Mantle convection is when heat moves from the mantle to the surface and causes the mantle, and the tectonic plates to move very slowly.
The volcanic activey under the crust causes the tectonic plates to move
No, convection currents in the upper mantle cause tectonic plates to move.
No, convection currents in the upper mantle cause tectonic plates to move.
The upper mantle contains convection currents that move the tectonic plates.

It will move the tectonic plates
Its more ov a movement really not a process. Tectonic plates move due to convection currents in the mantle.
