This type of issue is a national crisis. Many people do not know where to take their used electronics, therefore they discard them in the trash which then ends up in local Landfills. I am a representative for, GlobalTech LM, Inc. it was founded in the fourth quarter of 2007, on the principles of Community Service and Environmental Protection. Proper waste disposal allows the segregation of things that can still be recycled from the ones that can no longer be converted into useful materials. The use of refurbished cartridges, paper bags, and other eco-friendly materials will surely improve biodiversity because it reduces waste and increases the conservation of raw materials. If you are referring to living matter, the problem with pollution is that it can kill off plant and animal life, or it can allow certain species to become invasive. For instance, if phosphates are dumped into a body of water, it can cause red algae to take over and kill off some of the other aquatic plant life. So the natural balance is upset and biodiversity is negatively impacted.

Don't cut trees or use hairspray, cut down on driving and don't waste electric because if you do then they'll have to make more so try and recycle edit: While all of this is true, none of these directly maintain biodiversity. Also, hairspray propellants are are no longer CFCs, and are more or less harmless to the environment. Some ways to maintain biodiversity: 1. Stop planting monoculture crops in replacement of diverse forests/plains 2. Stop the use of herbicides 3. Carefully use fertilizers (to prevent algal blooms etc)

Since biodiversity is the multitude of animals and other organisms the consequences of losing biodiversity would be that their would only be one type or organism. While a plant could possibly withstand this it would be impossible if only an herbivore or carnivore was left for they could not sustain very long. Actually it would be really hard on most plants as well because they would have no way to decompose and thus no nutrients would be recycled it to the environment. So basically your answer would be that everything the ecosystem is built on collapses and we are left with a waste land.
